Cheers and thank you to Cheryl Thomas of Townsend Real Estate for her hard work, endless effort and patience with us as first-time home buyers!

She was very knowledgeable, accommodating and professional during our whole process. She was flexible with her time and spent a great deal of it with us, accommodating our schedule as needed.

We would not hesitate for a second to recommend Mrs. Thomas to our friends, family and anyone else for all of their real estate needs.

Cheers to attorney Phillip Gilfus of the Mitchell Law Group. He did an outstanding job of representing one of the members of the Massey Hill community watch during a most difficult and trying time. Mr. Gilfus is a caring, professional man who is a credit to his profession, and we thank you from the bottoms of our hearts!

- Stella Mullen, Fayetteville

Cheers to Ms. Holland, Mrs. Weaver and Mrs. Teets at Rockfish Hoke Elementary School. My children have had a great year in their classrooms. I have been kept very informed about their good attitudes and behavior, and also about their academics. These are great teachers and should be recognized not only for their teaching, but also for the love and care they show their students. Cheers once again for them.

- Amber Zirkle, Raeford

Cheers to Nick, Bernadette and the gang at Superior Bakery. Fayetteville Urban Ministry thanks you for your continued support and kindness to help our community. You are the best.

- Janice Voter, Fayetteville

Cheers to Sammio's Restaurant on Raeford Road for the super food, service and facility on May 15. We celebrated our 60th Massey Hill High reunion, and it was a very enjoyable experience.

Special thanks to the staff for making this a very memorable occasion.

Cheers to the folks at Harris Teeter. I ordered a cake to celebrate my son's wedding. We were given the wrong flavor. It put a damper on the day.

I called Harris Teeter to let them know and was told to bring my receipt in, and they would reimburse my money. They not only reimbursed me the money, but they doubled the amount. What an unexpected surprise!

Harris Teeter surely means it when they say "customer satisfaction guaranteed."

- Connie Motz, Fayetteville

Cheers to First Christian Church on Fort Bragg Road for serving a delicious spaghetti dinner.

Cheers to Sara Reid, a soldier whose leg was shattered in Iraq and is still in a brace. Sara prepared and provided the family secret recipe for the delicious meat sauce. This was truly a labor of love that she provided for the community, and it was the best spaghetti sauce.

- Anne Sternlicht, Fayetteville

Jeers to all the politicians and their robo-calls, especially during dinnertime. I don't care if I voted for them last time or not, any politician who robo-calls our residence, we will not be voting for, under any circumstances.

- Michael and Donna Gunderson, Fayetteville

Jeers to a car lot for selling lemons. I purchased a 1997 Chevy Cavalier for $884, and, from day one, I have had nothing but problems with this car. I have since spent roughly $300, and it still is not right.

I purchased this car this past fall after being involved in an accident that totaled my car. It should be against the law to sell cars that are lemons.
